Johnstons of Elgin has been awarded the Royal warrant of appointment as manufacturers of estate tweed HRH The Prince of Wales, Duke of Rothesay.
In both the Hawick and Elgin mills, woven and knitted products have been lovingly produced by devoted craftspeople, some of whom have been honing their skills with us for almost 50 years.
The experience and tradition rooted in our history have been passed down through generations to ensure they are preserved and represented in the products made today.

Over the years we have expanded our business and extended the mill, but we have also built a community, which, time and again, has proved to be our greatest asset. To date we employ just over 1000 employees.
We are the only manufacturer in Scotland to maintain the capability to take natural fibres from their raw state, through every stage of the process, to perfectly finished products.
We are especially concerned with the preservation of traditional craft, doing our utmost to ensure the conservation of these special, increasingly rare, skills.
Our commitment to our people is our pledge to the future - our training centre in Hawick offers apprenticeships to people of all ages and is central to our vision of supporting and developing our legacy.
