Located in the beautiful Scottish Borders, on the banks of the river Teviot, stands Johnstons of Elgin’s Hawick mill. When you visit our site in Hawick you will be able to explore our interpretative centre which showcases multimedia educational exhibits, exploring the craftsmanship behind the process of cashmere manufacture, focusing on the fact that Johnstons of Elgin is the only Scottish, indeed UK, mill to carry out the entire manufacture process from fibre to finished garment.
Each season our design team create exciting collections of fabrics, knitwear and accessories for men and women, as well as for the home. Within our Hawick retail store, which encompasses 3,600 sq. feet of visitor/retail space, you can find a fantastic range of Johnstons knitwear, accessories, and tweed products - including cashmere and tweed jackets for men and women, and a selection of fine baby & child cashmere clothing and accessories. Further to this you will be able to browse & purchase from our latest Home Interiors collection featuring fabric for upholstery and curtains.
Your visit would not be complete without taking in refreshments at our Cafe, which boasts a sumptuous menu focusing on fresh locally sourced foods with an emphasis on home baking.
Take a break from shopping and enjoy a cup of speciality tea or coffee in our Coffee Shop and be tempted to accompany it with some of our delicious home baking. Our Coffee Shop menu also features a selection of breakfast, lunchtime and afternoon tea options which showcase our locally sourced produce. All our cakes and traybakes are made daily onsite by our highly skilled team. We cater for all dietary requirements, but please ask our team for further information.
